Graveside funeral services for Billie Joe Basson, age 84, of Attalla, who entered into rest on April 20, 2023, will be held at Crestwood Cemetery on Monday, April 24, 2023 at 2:00pm, Bro. Sammy Odell and Sis. Teresa Chapman will officiate. Crestwood Funeral Home is in charge.

Mrs. Basson was a lifetime resident of Etowah County, a member of the Red Hat Society, and a member of Siberton Baptist Church. She worked for 31 years in the Etowah County Board of Education at Ivalee Elementary School.

She is preceded in death by her husband Ernest Basson and parents, Aaron and Nell Collett

She is survived by her daughters, Angela Claburn (Lynn), and Victoria Berry (Brad); grandchildren, Justin Camper (Jamie), Andrea Luker (Onaje), and Jaclyn Berry; great-grandchildren, Lexi Adkins (Colton), Jaiden and Jaylee Camper, Emilyn Henderson, Ava Luker, and Penelope Wilbanks; and great-great-grandchild Asher Adkins. As well as her beloved pet Rosie.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Oaklanding Assisted Living.  Special Thanks to Oaklanding Assisted Living and staff, and Gentiva Hospice.  The family will receive friends at Siberton Baptist Church at 3:00pm for fellowship.
