IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Beverly Marie
Sims
April 29, 1944 – January 26, 2022
Ms. Beverly Sims of Birmingham, passed away in the company of her son, Kevin and dearest
friend, Betty on Wednesday, January 26, 2022, at the age of 77 at St. Vincent's Hospital East
from non-COVID pneumonia.
Her grieving family will receive friends at the Crestwood Memorial Cemetery and Funeral Home
on Monday January 31, 2022, starting at 11:00 a.m. The funeral service itself will follow at 1
p.m. to honor Beverly's life and will be officiated by her beloved Pastor David of Pinson Valley
First Baptist Church. Crestwood Memorial Cemetery and Funeral Home is located at 2209 East Broad
Street, Gadsden, Alabama.
Ms. Sims was born in Santa Monica, California. She moved to Glencoe, Alabama at the age of
three with her family. She graduated from Glencoe High School. She worked all her life before
retiring as a legal bookkeeper for Spain and Gillon, LLC.
She is fondly remembered as a loving Christian woman who treasured her family, adored her
pets, and valued her church. She took pleasure in cooking (her cracker pie was perfectly
delicious). She enjoyed gardening, shopping, reading, watching the Hallmark channel, and
supporting Alabama football. She savored time spent with her dear friends and family and
doting on her dogs and cat. She had great humor and even some sass and is already dearly
missed.
Ms. Sims is preceded in death by her parents Ralph and Ruth Wolfe and her brothers Richard
Wolfe, Daniel Wolfe, and Roger Wolfe. She is survived by her son Kevin Sims who currently
resides in California, her grandson Alexander Sims of North Carolina, her sister Janis Carter, her
sister-in-law Betty Wolfe, several nieces and nephews, and her dearest friend and companion,
Betty Blakely.
The family would like to issue a special thanks to the incredibly skilled, attentive, and
compassionate care team Beverly had at St. Vincent's East CICU especially Dr. Paul Ward, a
crew of amazing nurses, and even patient sitters; they also appreciate the support of Dr.
Patricia A. Ronald and Ann Sims.
In lieu of flowers and in honor of Beverly's great devotion to animals, donations may be made
to A.S.P.C.A. in her name.
