Bettye Gaye Keeton, 90, of Piedmont, passed away on June 15th, 2024. She was born to parents C.L. and Gaye Shurett on August 5th, 1933.

Bettye will be remembered as a Christian and went to Immanuel Babtist Church in Hokes Bluff. She was very involved with her church family and helped them with any events they held. She worked as a dental assistant at Lewis Mitchell's dentist office for over 15 years. Her late husband Hershel was in a well-known bluegrass band and they attended many of his events on the weekends. They also enjoyed being over Desota State Park camp for over 20 years as camp hosts. Bettye was a kind and loving woman and will be dearly missed.
She is preceded in death by her husband of 70 years Hershel Keeton; son Thomas Keeton; parents C.L. and Gaye Shurett; grandchild Rachel; great grandchild Jacob; sisters Vera Nell and Verla; brothers Bill and Albert Shurett
She is survived by her daughter Lisa Williams; grandson Dylan; granddaughter Hannah and Jessica; step grandchildren Alex, Jessica, Armond of Texas; daughter in law Alma Keeton; three great grandchildren and four great-great grandchildren
