March 30, 1968 – July 12, 2022
Barry Glenn St. John, age 54, passed away July 12, 2022 after 4.5 years in the end stages of Early Onset Alzheimer's Disease.
Visitation will be at Crestwood Funeral home Thursday from 6-8 pm with graveside service officiated
by Bro. Mark Walker, Friday at 10 am.
The family wishes to express special thanks to The UAB Brain Aging and Memory Clinic (Dr. Powers and Geldmacher), caregivers Brittany, Tiffany, Carol, and Angie and friends Dennis and Vicki Battles also Brian and Kristi Short, CCHHR Alzheimer's Care, nurses and staff of GRMC Geri Psychiatry Unit, Walker Baptist Medical Center, Dr. Barton, and Kindred Hospice.
Pallbearers will be: Tommy Coley, Eric Roberg, Rob Griffin, Jerry McDowell, Brian Short, and Micheal Romans.
Honorary Pallbearers: Glencoe High School Class of 1986
He is preceded in death by parents William O. (Billy) and Peggy J. St. John. Grandparents Claude and Ruth St.John and O.L. and Gladys Romans.
Barry is survived by his two beautiful daughters: Alisa and Hanna who he loved and adored. He was very involved in their school sports programs. They were foremost in everything he did and worked very hard for a future to share with them. Barry had a beautiful smile, loved life and helping others. He loved music, working out at the gym, and lifelong hobby of wood working. Barry was a avid University of Alabama fan. Barry had two degrees in electronics and air conditioning/refrigeration but had a lifetime of carpentry and mechanical skills he learned from his dad and brother Brian. His careers spanned from automation creations/repairs, radiology equipment repair, and training and maintenance/repair of various machines at Honda. He was a very dedicated and hard worker of 19 years at Honda.
Barry is also survived by his two siblings: Brian (Cathy) and Susan (Robby), nieces Crystal and Jenna, and nephew Wil.
The family has asked that in lieu of flowers donations can be made in his honor to Alzheimer's Association Research of Early Onset Alzheimer's Disease.
