Ruth Jarrett, 90, was resurrected from her old life into her new life with Jesus, Easter Sunday, April 20, 2014. She spent her life serving others. Her home was the center of her family and community. Nothing gave her more pleasure than her family especially her granddaughters and great grandsons. Her humility and graciousness attracted all to her home on Polk Avenue and she willingly served their needs with food and a listening ear. She truly loved others more than herself and lived a life reflective of the gospel grace. She will be missed by all those who were blessed to know her.
She is preceded in death by her husband, James "Jimmy " Jarrett and her son, Phillip Jarrett. She survived by her son Terry (Becky) Jarrett of Tuscaloosa; her granddaughters Vicki Porter of Atlanta and Lesley (Travis) Wolfe of Tuscaloosa and their sons Graham and Evan. Daughter in law Jane Jarrett of Gadsden and her daughter and grandsons. Sisters in law Bonnie Martin and Gwendolyn Brown of Rome, Georgia and a multitude of nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers will be nephews. Special thanks to her niece, Joyce Estes for her continual care and the staff of Forest Manor Nursing Home in Tuscaloosa.
