Obituary
Arlene Gladden, age 94, of Gadsden went to her heavenly home on Tuesday, April 25, 2023. Burial was at Crestwood Cemetery. Crestwood Memorial Funeral Home directed the private service.
Mrs. Gladden loved the Lord and her church families at First Baptist Hokes Bluff and Calvary Baptist. She had a special love for all children and served Calvary Baptist as Nursery Director for over thirty years.
Her servant's heart and humble attitude was shared with many thr ough her cooking and sewing talents. In addition, her favorite role was that of a mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, and her love and joy for the Lord was evident in that love for her family.
She was preceded in death by her parents Belvin Buell England and Era Christine Yates England; her husband of 65 years, Loyd Gladden; grandchildren Dwane Alan Jones and Matthew Brian Jones; son-in-law Ronald W. Jones; and sister Louise Ramey and nephew Ricky Lynn Ramey.
Mrs. Gladden is survived by her children Rhonda Jones and Kerry (Luann) Gladden; grandchildren Megan (Josh) Brennard, Ginger (Scott) Medders, and Jamie Jones; great-grandchildren Hayden, Synja, Griffith, and Annalee; niece Debra Coleman; along with other family and dear friends.
