Cemetery, for Mrs. Anne Weston Morris, age 76, who died Tuesday, December 12, 2023,
following a brief illness. Friend and Pastor Norman Chavers will officiate. Crestwood Funeral

Born March 9, 1947 to Velda Ruth White Weston and Jasper Blair Weston, Sr., Anne was
a lifelong resident of Gadsden, Alabama. She was a 1966 graduate of Gadsden High School. She
graduated from the University of Alabama with both Bachelor's and Master's degrees in early
childhood education. She was an educator for 31 years, with most of her career spent teaching
Kindergarten at Oscar Adams Elementary in East Gadsden. Anne was a truly gifted teacher who
loved her "babies" and made sure they knew they were loved. Many of her students have kept in
touch through the years because of the impact she made on their lives. She was an avid reader
and an incredibly talented crafter. She was a talented seamstress who sewed many clothes,
draperies, and linens for herself and her loved ones. Anne loved to knit and she enjoyed gifting
friends and family with her beautiful handmade blankets, scarves, hats, purses and mittens. Some
of her favorite times were spent on the back of a motorcycle with her husband as they traveled
the country with their dear friends, James and Laura Condra. Her greatest joy came when she
became a grandmother. She adored her grandchildren and loved spending time with them, doing
any activity they wanted to do. She was their best friend and "partner in crime." Anne was loved
by all who knew her and she will be dearly missed.
She is preceded in death by her parents Jasper Blair Weston, Sr. and Velda Ruth Weston,
brother Jasper "Blair" Weston, Jr., Sister-in-law Linda Hill Weston, nephew Gregory Blaine
Weston, and beloved aunt Annie Lee Weston.
She is survived by her husband of 53 years, Michael Aaron Morris, daughter Dawn
Ashley (Todd) Rains, grandchildren Addison Blair Rains and Carter Ellison Rains, nephews
Jeffery Tyler (Michele) Weston and Brian Craig (Lindsey) Weston, and her dearest friend Laura
Condra.
Special thanks to Dr. Katie Hardeman and ICU nurses Hunter, Amanda, and Skylar who
gave her amazing care and Mr. Terry Harbin who went above and beyond to make sure she had
her medicines when needed.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 12 pm until the time of the
service. In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to the American Heart Association or the
Gadsden Humane Society and Pet Rescue.
