Ms. Anita Simmons, 74, of Brentwood, TN, went to be with her Heavenly Father on Saturday, August 9, 2025.  She courageously battled pancreatic cancer for seven months.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Leon and Edna Bearden.

She is survived by her son, Justin Simmons; daughter-in-law Natalie Simmons; grandson, Parker Simmons (12); and grandson Barrett Simmons (8).

The family will receive friends at Crestwood Funeral Home in Gadsden, Alabama, on Sunday, August 17, 2025, from 1:00 p.m. until 3:00 p.m.

The funeral services will be at 3:00 p.m. at Crestwood Funeral Home with Pastor Roger Graham officiating.  Interment will follow at Crestwood Cemetery.

Anita was born in Gadsden and a graduate of Gadsden High School.  She attended Auburn University where she received a degree in pharmacy.  Anita practiced pharmacy for over 40 years at Gadsden Regional Medical Center.

Anita was a Christian and member of Bellevue Baptist Church in Gadsden, Alabama.  After moving to Brentwood, TN, in 2020, Anita attended Brentwood Baptist Church.

Anita was a loving mother, grandmother, and friend to many.

Serving as pallbearers are Mac Downs, Donnie George, Ronnie George, Lane Montgomery, Al Nichols, and Ronnie Vinyard.  Honorary pallbearers are King Chavers, Milton Higginbotham, Pat Slaton, and Robby Wright.
