Alvaro Francisco Romero, 27, of Gadsden, passed away on May 18, 2022. He was born on May 8th, 1995, to Francisco Romero and Ana Jeanette Rodas in Los Angeles, CA. After graduating Gadsden City High School, Alvaro followed in his father's footsteps working in Commercial Construction and was able to travel throughout the South.

Alvaro was a huge sports fanatic. He had a favorite team in all of the sports and leagues and kept up with them all. He was a huge Alabama fan and Dallas Cowboys for football, LA Dodgers for baseball, LA Lakers for basketball, and Real Madrid, Cruz Azul, and Mexico for soccer. He loved watching sports.

He was very passionate about sports, but his favorite sport was soccer. He played it growing up and was blessed to be able to coach for Etowah Youth Soccer Association, Rush Soccer, and Coosa Soccer. In the spring, he got the chance to coach for his Alma Mater, Gadsden City High School, 9th and Junior Varsity soccer team. He loved playing soccer but loved coaching it even more. He had a knack with kids and wanted each kid he coached to be the best they can be. He would say, "it's his breath of fresh air," being out on that field.

Aside from sports what Alvaro was more passionate about was his family. He was beyond proud of his son Alvaro Romero Jr, 6, and Analie Romero, 15 months. Junior was always out on the soccer field with him or playing video games. Analie was his little princess who smiles just like he always did. He loved being a father to both of them and did everything he could to keep them happy and spoiled.

Alvaro is survived by his parents, Francisco Romero and Ana Rodas; his sisters and brother-in-law, Yajaira Romero, Joanna Baez, and Leonardo Baez; his nephews, Anthony Baez and Santana Hunt; his partner, Margarita Thomas; his loving kids Alvaro Romero Jr. and Analie Romero; and countless family members and friends that will forever cherish him in our heart and miss his smile.
Funeral services will be held at a later date and arranged by Crestwood Memorial Funeral Home.
