Funeral service will be at 1pm Wednesday August 3, at Crestwood Chapel for Albert W. Willingham, age 87, Gadsden, who died Saturday July 30, 2011.Gary Silvey, his stepson, will officiate. Burial will be in Crestwood Cemetery. Crestwood Memorial Funeral Home will direct services.
Mr. Willingham was a Veteran of World War II, having served with the US Navy. He had retired from the Steel Plant after 27 years of service. He lived on the river and loved it so much that he had nick named himself the "River Rat". He was also an avid Nascar fan. He was a loving Husband, father, and Christian by choice.
He is preceded in death by his daughter Patricia Smith; parents Jake and Anna Willingham; brothers and sisters Mae B. Willingham, Ruby Willingham Kathleen Willingham, Cecil Willingham, Dollie P. Willingham, and Betty Willingham.
He is survived by his wife of 41 years Doris Willingham; Daughter Linda Irons; chosen children Linda (Ken) Nunn, Gary (Kathy) Silvey, and Pamela (Buddy) McKee; 13 grandchildren, 14 great grandchildren; sister June Hale; and Numerous Nieces and Nephews.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home tomorrow from 11 AM until the hour of service.
