Graveside services will be 12 noon Friday at Crestwood Cemetery for Mr. Alan Watford Biggar age 63 of Southside who passed away Tuesday at his childhood home surrounded by family. Reverend Troy Walker will officiate . Burial will be in Crestwood Cemetery .Crestwood Funeral Home is in charge of services.
Alan was a lifelong member of East Gadsden United Methodist Church, a 1970 graduate of Glencoe High School ,an Auburn student who became obsessed with Auburn Athletics, retired form Good Year with over 42 years of service and was a faithful member of United Steelworkers Local # 12."I have fought the good fight, I have finished the course, I have kept the faith". 2 Timothy 4:7
He is preceded in death by wife Wanda Biggar, father Charles Byron Biggar Jr.,brother Charles Byron Biggar III
He is survived by mother Juanita Biggar, daughter Corrie Biggar, sisters Bonnie (George) Dewey, Barbara (Hubert) Colvin, Pamela(Jim) Carroll and Kathy(Jim) Jones and a large extended family.
Pallbearers will be Rodney Huff, Shawn McLaughlin, Eddie Gilbreath, Gary Wright, Jackie Carroll and Phil Wofford.
Honorary pallbearers will be Local # 12 Steelworkers, Sam Clark, Richie Clay and James Lancaster.
In lieu of flowers donations may be made to East Gadsden United Methodist Church or the charity of your choice.
