Funeral services for Mrs. Addie Lou Leslie age 83 of Gadsden who died Tuesday, May 26, 2015 will be 11 am Thursday at Crestwood Chapel. Pastors Tommy Marshall, Don Arnold and Gene Evans will officiate. Burial will be in Crestwood Cemetery. Crestwood Funeral Home is in charge of services.
Mrs. Leslie was a faithful member of The Tabernacle Church for over 45 years. She loved her grandchildren dearly. She taught and served children and families in her church and in education for many years. She was a true servant of God.
She is preceded in death by her parents Charlie and Annie Edmondson, brothers, Charlie K Edmondson Jr., John N. Edmondson, sisters Mary Emma Crawford, Maude E. Capps and daughter in law Tammy Leslie.
She is survived by her husband John A. Leslie Sr., sons John A.(Cheryl) Leslie Jr., Bruce C.(Lynn) Leslie and Glenn E.(Melissa) Leslie, grandchildren Cristin (Daniel), Emily, Dillon, Katie, Ryan, Cameron, Kyle, Andrew, Staria, Cooper, Indya, Kerrigan, and Saxon, great grandchildren Camden and Lawson Hill ,Cole Prater and Carter Leslie, sister Lois Bagley, brother Alan Edmondson.
In lieu of flowers family requests that memorials be made to The Tabernacle children's Ministry.
Pall Bearers will be grandsons Daniel Prater, Dillon Leslie, Ryan Leslie, Kerrigan Clark, Kyle Leslie and Andrew Leslie.
The family wishes to extend special thanks to Pastor Tommy Marshall, the Tabernacle Church and all the family and friends who were by her side.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home tonight from 6 until 8 pm.
